SCAMHow it works
- The link collects your name, phone, Aadhaar or bank details, or asks for a small “registration fee”.
- “Share with 10 groups” spreads the scam further.
- Your details are sold or used for other frauds.
Red flags
- Government schemes are announced on official .gov.in sites and in the news, not only in forwards.
- Real schemes don’t charge a fee through a link or ask you to forward to “activate”.
- Spelling mistakes, emojis, and “last date today”.
What to do
- Search for the scheme on myscheme.gov.in or PIB Fact Check before believing it.
- Paste the forward into the check box on this site.
- Don’t share it further. Tell the sender it’s fake, kindly.
