Terms of use
Effective: 25 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of Bharat Fact Check at factcheck.giveawayworld.online (the “service”). By using the service, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
What the service is
Bharat Fact Check helps you find out what independent fact-checkers have published about rumours and claims. It is an information service only.
- Verdicts come from fact-checks published by third parties. We link to them and do not control them.
- Summaries, family messages and photo descriptions are written with AI and may contain mistakes. Always read the original fact-check before relying on a verdict.
- When we find no fact-check, it does not mean a claim is true, or that a picture is real or new.
- Nothing on the service is legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. In an emergency, follow official sources and authorities.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit other people’s personal data, intimate or sexual images, child sexual abuse material, or any content that is unlawful under Indian law (including content listed in rule 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules, 2021);
- use the service to harass, threaten, defame or impersonate anyone, or to promote enmity between groups;
- upload malware, try to break or overload the service, get around its limits, or scrape it beyond what our robots.txt allows;
- present our pages or results as if they were your own fact-check, or suggest that we endorse you.
We may block access that breaks these rules, and we report child sexual abuse material and other serious crimes to the authorities.
What you submit
You confirm you have the right to share any text, photo or video you submit. You let us process it to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy.
We never publish the messages, photos or videos you check. On the Rumour radar, we publish only our own short, neutral description of the rumour you report, never your exact words, and we may edit, refuse or remove any report. A card on the radar means people reported the rumour; it does not mean the rumour is true, and it is not our verdict.
Our content and others’ content
Fact-check articles, names and logos belong to their publishers. Linking to them does not mean they endorse us or that we are affiliated. You may share our pages, verdict summaries and family messages freely with a link back to the page. The site’s design and code belong to Bharat Fact Check.
If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright or other rights, contact the grievance officer below.
No warranty and limitation of liability
We work hard to be accurate, but the service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and may be unavailable or contain errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Grievance officer
In line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you can raise a complaint about any content on the service or about these terms with our Grievance Officer:
Grievance Officer, Bharat Fact Check
support@giveawayworld.online
Please describe the content (with its link) and your complaint. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and decide on them within 15 days.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the service after a change, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. This does not take away any mandatory protection you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live.
