About us
Effective: 25 October 2026
Bharat Fact Check is an independent, non-partisan project that helps people check rumours spreading on WhatsApp and social media before they share them.
Who we are
We are not linked to any political party, government, company or media group. The site is free for everyone.
We are not affiliated with or partners of the fact-checkers we link to (such as Alt News, BOOM, Factly or Vishvas News). Their verdicts and articles belong to them; we point you to their work.
Why we don’t publish names
People who fact-check in India often face threats and harassment, so we don’t publish personal names. Instead, we make public everything you need to judge our work: our method, the source of every verdict, and every correction we make.
Our principles
- Non-partisan and fair: we treat claims from every side the same way. We check claims, not people.
- Open about sources: every verdict comes from a published fact-check, and we always link to the original article.
- Open about funding: the project is self-funded. We take no advertising, grants or donations today. If that changes, we will list it on this page.
- Open about method: how we collect, rank and check rumours is on How we check. Summaries are written with AI, and we say so.
- Open and honest corrections: when we get something wrong, we fix it.
These principles are based on the code of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN). We are not an IFCN signatory.
Corrections policy
If a verdict, summary or link looks wrong, tell us with the “Think this is wrong? Tell us” form on that page or at support@giveawayworld.online. We review every report within 7 days. If we made a mistake, we correct the page; if a fact-checker changes their verdict, we update ours too.
Contact and grievances
For questions, corrections or complaints: support@giveawayworld.online. The formal grievance process is in our Terms of use.
